How the Share via Gmail extension handles your data
The Share via Gmail extension is designed to use the minimum data required to provide its functionality.
What the extension does
Share via Gmail lets users share webpages by sending a Gmail message directly from their browser. The user selects a recipient, optionally adds a message, and the extension sends the email using the user's Google account.
Google permissions requested
- gmail.send, allows the extension to send email on your behalf. It does not provide access to read, search, or modify your Gmail inbox or any existing messages.
- contacts.readonly, allows the extension to access contact names and email addresses from Google Contacts to provide recipient autocomplete suggestions.
Data accessed
From Gmail, the extension accesses only what is required to compose and send an email initiated by you: the recipient address you enter, the page title (as the subject), and the body you compose. It does not read, store, or modify your inbox, drafts, labels, or attachments.
From Google Contacts, only name and email address fields are accessed, only in response to your typing in the recipient field. Contact data is not accessed in bulk and is not stored outside your device.
Data usage
Data accessed through Google APIs is used only to provide the core functionality of the extension. It is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or training machine learning models. We do not allow humans to read Google user data. The extension's use of information complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and retention
- Authentication tokens are stored temporarily in Chrome's secure storage and managed by Chrome. They expire automatically and are cleared on sign-out.
- Recent contacts may be stored locally in Chrome storage on your device to improve usability. This data never leaves your device.
- Email content is transmitted directly to Google's Gmail API and is not stored by the extension.
Data sharing
We do not sell, share, or transfer user data to third parties. The extension communicates only with Google services using your authenticated credentials, and only to perform actions you initiate.
Marketing Spark IQ Chrome Extension
How the Marketing Spark IQ extension handles your data
Marketing Spark IQ is built with restraint: it collects the minimum data required to evaluate LinkedIn profiles and connection requests against the networking preferences you set.
What the extension does
The extension analyzes the visible content of a LinkedIn page you are viewing, a profile or a connection request, and produces a connection assessment that includes a score, a recommendation, the reasoning behind it, likely intent, and suggested tags.
The extension does not:
- Send messages, accept or reject connection requests, post content, or otherwise automate LinkedIn activity.
- Require your LinkedIn login credentials.
- Use official LinkedIn APIs.
- Scrape LinkedIn at scale.
Data accessed
The extension reads only information that is already visible on the LinkedIn page you are looking at, such as name, headline, job title, company, location, and the about section. It also uses the networking preferences you provide during setup. It does not access private messages, passwords, or payment information.
Storage and retention
All data, your setup, preferences, saved notes, tags, and evaluations, is stored locally in Chrome's extension storage on your device. Nothing is transmitted to or stored on our servers. If cloud features (such as sync across devices) are added in the future, this policy will be updated and users will be notified before any change in how data is handled.
Data sharing
Marketing Spark IQ does not sell, rent, or share your personal information or connection assessments with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers. Data accessed through the extension is never used for advertising, analytics about you, profiling, or training machine learning models.
User control and deletion
- Update or clear preferences inside the extension's settings.
- Delete saved evaluations, notes, and tags individually.
- Clear all stored extension data through Chrome's extension settings.
- Remove the extension entirely, this deletes all locally stored data.
The extension does not track unrelated browsing activity outside of LinkedIn pages.
Permissions
- Access to LinkedIn pages, required so the extension can read the profile or connection request you are actively viewing.
- Chrome storage, required to save your preferences, notes, tags, and evaluations on your device.
